Seattle, WA - November 16, 2009 - Global supercomputer leader Cray Inc. (Nasdaq GM: CRAY) today announced that the Cray CX1™ deskside supercomputer has been named "Best HPC Cluster Solution or Technology" by the editors of HPCwire as part of the publication's 2009 Readers' and Editors' Choice Awards. Additionally, Cray has been named one of the "Top Five Vendors to Watch" by HPCwire readers, and Cray President and CEO, Peter Ungaro, has been named to HPCwire's "People to Watch in 2010" list.

High-End Cray XT6 Supercomputer and Midrange Cray XT6m System Will Extend Cray's Performance and Productivity Leadership on Challenging Applications
Seattle, WA and Portland, OR - November 16, 2009 - At the 2009 Supercomputing Conference in Portland, Oregon, global supercomputer leader Cray Inc. (Nasdaq GM: CRAY) today announced the newest upgrades to the company's industry-leading Cray XT™ supercomputer series. The high-end Cray XT6™ supercomputer system and its fully-compatible Cray XT6m™ midrange counterpart will combine Cray's unmatched scalability and architecture with AMD's (NYSE: AMD) newest innovations in processing for high performance computing (HPC). SIGGRAPH ASIA 2008—SINGAPORE—DECEMBER 9 2008—NVIDIA Corporation today announced its full support for the newly released OpenCL™ 1.0 specification from the Khronos Group. OpenCL (Open Computing Language) is a new compute API that allows developers to harness the massive parallel computing power of the GPU. The addition of OpenCL is another major milestone in the GPU revolution that gives NVIDIA developers another powerful programming option.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. —Sep. 30, 2009—Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) announced plans today for a new supercomputer that will use NVIDIA®’s next generation CUDA™ GPU architecture, codenamed “Fermi”. Used to pursue research in areas such as energy and climate change, ORNL’s supercomputer is expected to be 10-times more powerful than today’s fastest supercomputer.
